Origin of dance unknown as we go to press... we
learned it from Sam and Helen
Mazur, well known teachers in the New York City
area. Its delightful melody
and simple steps have made it very popular with
American folk dancers.
FORMATION: Hands joined at shoulder
level, elbows bent.
GRAPEVINE STEP to the right like
this:
Step to side on Right foot... step in back of Right
onto Left foot.
Step on Right to side... step in front of Right onto
Left foot.
Step-hop on Right foot.
Move to center with a step-together-step (L,R,L).
Repeat until the instrumental part of the record
begins, then do the
INTERLUDE: (Done to the
instrumental part of the record)
Step to Right onto Right foot.... step on Left foot
in back of Right.
Step to Right onto Right foot.... Hop on Right foot.
Move to center with seven tiny steps, LRLRLRL.
Do the interlude 2 times, then repeat dance from
beginning.
